When released as a single, the song reached 1 on Mainstream Rock and 16 on the Pop Singles charts. ![]() According to the official Def Leppard FAQ, These four words that you hear at the start of Rock of Ages, mean nothing in particular though, the band sometimes jokingly claims it means running through the forest silently. Its gibberish, said by producer Mutt Lange during the recordings of the song, instead of the regular one, two, three, four. The song proceeds to reference Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black) by Neil Young with the lyrics Its better to burn out Than to fade away. The line Weve got the power, weve got the glory is likely a reference to Matthew 6:13. The line is Drive me crazier; no serenade, no fire brigade, just pyromania. We ask our submitters to thoroughly research questions and provide sources where possible. Also, my copy does not have the groove 34 from centre hole - otherwise it is identical. This dual product (both the record and the separate autographed sleeve) sold for 30 in total, and was only listed on their website for about two hours until it sold out. Within hours after the product sold out (it sold out once there were no more autographed sleeves), the product page was deleted from their website without a trace. There is no trace of this product anywhere online, and it is unknown how many copies and sleeves were sold. There was also no certificate of authenticity that came with the products. However, the day these items were sold, Def Leppards official Facebook page advertised the products on the Sound of Vinyl website, saying that there was a very limited number of autographed sleeves. This is the exact release that was sent with the autographed sleeves. I contacted a buyer on Amazon who was selling these products together, and while he did not tell me where he got them from, he did say that he got the signatures on the sleeve deemed authentic by professionals at the Beckett Authentication company. If you have any more information on this, dont hesitate to contact me. Its a strange mystery and I only know of two other people who definitely bought these products that day. It looks like a chinese version but with a US cd, if someone know anything about this version, please tell me, thanks. This version has spectacular sound quality, even though its pressed on thin vinyl. I have this 80s icon Def Leppard album on LP, regular CD release and recently found the MFSL gold CD release at a local thrift store. The MFSL release seems to tame the harsh highs compared to the CD release, or looked another way, isnt quite as brilliant compared to the CD release, probably through some minor equalization adjustments. If you have this MFSL release its definitely a good listener but for my money it isnt worth the 5X price compared to the regular CD you can just turn down the treble know a nudge and get the same sound. Compared to the regular CD release MFSL does seem to have tamed the hot high frequencies probably left from when they mastered the vinyl version. All things being equal with this music just being loud, louder and loudest Id say one could safely pass on this edition.
